Introducing Miss Ajani Eshè - our spotlight artist for the BBI Summer Launch Event. Read her bio below, and then check out “What’s Hatchin’” for the event details featuring her work!
Ajani first picked up a camera at 3yrs old, and it was apparent that she had the “eye.” When not in school, she enjoys tying flies with her dad, playing basketball, listening to music, goofing around with siblings, and hanging out with her mom and extended families in both Maryland and Ohio.
Ajani shoots a majority of her photography on her iPhone, but also enjoys using a Canon EOS Rebel T6. Photography for Ajani is somewhat second nature. She instinctively takes pictures wherever she is. This allows her to capture nature, and individuals in their most honest form. When asked why she has chosen photography as her artistic medium, she replied, “I take pictures and enjoy photography because it gives me a way to express myself without having to use any verbal communication. Black and white photos are my preference because it helps show definition.”
Ajani has hand selected some of her favorite photos to be on public display at the “Eshè Exhibition” presented by the Bird Box Initiative Foundation & IMS Design Center this June. As the eldest daughter of the organization's founder, Nichole states, “My journey of motherhood began with Ajani. Her middle name ‘Eshè’ means ‘Life,’ I could not launch the Bird Box Initiative Foundation without paying ode to the life that started it all.”
